At Alive, we believe teens aren’t just the leaders of tomorrow, they’re the leaders of today. That’s why we’re thrilled to share that Alive Teen Initiative (ATI) Programs are BACK! Our Teen-Led, Teen-Driven™ philosophy gives young people the opportunity, training, and support to design and run programs that matter most to them.
ATI Programs are made for youth and teens, by teens…the real pros on what’s fun, fresh, and engaging for all. From Book Clubs to Coding, Money Moves to ESL, there’s something for everyone to stay engaged, involved, and growing at Alive.
How it works: Scroll through the lineup, pick your faves, and sign up for as many as you want for just a small fee (or snag a scholarship if you need one!).
Come hang out, learn new skills, and make friends while doing things you actually enjoy.

Code for Kids is a student led tech program designed to make computer science fun, creative, and beginner friendly! Whether you’re brand new to coding or curious about how technology works, this program helps you go from Scratch to Python in a supportive, hands on environment. Led by high school volunteers from TechTogether Naperville, each session empowers students to think like problem-solvers and build real projects together. There is no experience needed! Come explore how coding can be exciting, artistic, and even a little magical.
Grades: 3rd-6th Weekly on Thursdays 4:30PM-6:00PM September 11th-October 2nd. $25 Fee Scholarships Available
Ignite your child’s imagination with AstroThink, an after-school adventure where young innovators grades 3-6 explore the wonders of space and artificial intelligence through hands-on STEM challenges! Once a week, our 90 minute sessions blend quick interactive demos with 30 minutes of creative building and real-world science explanations. From paper airplane craters to AI-powered planet classifiers, AstroThink makes learning out-of-this-world fun—no prior experience needed.
Grades: 9th-12th Weekly on Wednesdays 5:00PM-6:00PM September 10th-October 29th $25 Fee Scholarships Available
This program is specially designed for high school students who are new to English. It helps students improve their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills in a supportive and welcoming environment. The program focuses on building confidence in using English for school, daily life, and future goals. Students will learn at their own pace with help from the teen leaders and other fun activities. We also provide support in understanding school subjects like math, science, and history, while improving English at the same time.
Grades: 9th-12th Weekly on Wednesdays 5:00PM-6:00PM September 10th-May 20th. $25 Registration Fee
Do you want to read and talk about books with other like-minded individuals? Do you want to dive into new worlds and explore new situations? Come to the Alive Center’s Book Club and discuss literature, themes, and so much more! We meet every other Wednesday at the Alive Center. Everyone is welcome!

This program brings free, accessible education on useful life skills to the future of our nation. Topics include programming, critical thinking, and electrical circuitry.

Whether you’re a seasoned dungeon crawler or brand new to the game, our D&D Club is the place to roll the dice, create epic characters, and explore fantastical worlds with friends.You’ll work together to solve mysteries, battle monsters, and tell unforgettable stories—no experience needed, just bring your creativity and sense of adventure.

Dance and finance – a surprising pair? Perhaps!
Think school teaches everything kids need to know? Think again. Give your child a head start with this dance and financial literacy program at the Alive Center! Through a mix of choreography from different styles EVERY WEEK, fun games, hands-on activities, friendly competition, and engaging lessons, kids will learn the basics of dance, movement, and personal finance – all while having a blast.
This unique program brings movement and money together, helping kids stay active while building real-life skills that matter. Led by experienced dancers and financial educators, it’s the perfect first step toward confidence, creativity, and financial success.
