I attended North Carolina A&T State University where I earned my degree in Computer Engineering. A little about myself is I like to network, work out, and try different restaurants throughout Chicago. My biggest achievements were being able to fund my way through college without any financial support from family members by receiving almost 30 thousand dollars in scholarships. I am responsible for the DTSQA (Digital Technology Software Quality Assurance) of an Exelon innovation, Digital Fuel Move Sheets, which is an application used fleet-wide to digitally track and document all movement of nuclear fuel at our stations. Maureen Kunz
Board Member
About Maureen
Maureen joined Linden Oaks in 2004 and have held numerous roles within the organization. As the Associate Vice President and CNO of Linden Oaks Behavioral Health, she brings more than 36 years of behavioral health nursing experience to my role. Maureen earned her BSN from University of Wisconsin-Madison and MSN from Benedictine University. Prior to becoming the CNO, she assumed the role of Service Line Director for outpatient services expanding to Addison, Mokena, and Woodridge. She helped to grow Linden Oaks Medical Group to over 50 providers, including 50+ counselors across the outpatient system. One of her greatest accomplishments was the implementation of behavioral health integration into the primary care practices. During the Covid-19 pandemic, she assumed the role of transitioning behavioral health outpatient services from in-person to virtual care.
Throughout her career, she gravitated toward leadership positions and have appreciated the opportunity to work in a variety of hospitals across the Chicagoland area. One of the best things about working for Edward Elmhurst hospital is the endless opportunity to learn, grow, and build professional relationships with brilliant individuals. Maureen thrived with newer challenges and appreciated the ability to think outside of the box when it comes to new projects.
Maureen met her husband at the age of 15 working at his family’s Baskin Robbins store and they have been married for almost 37 years. They have three adult children. While two of her children followed in her footsteps to become a physician assistant and social worker in behavioral health, the last one fled to the west coast to be a writer/producer for ABC. They all share her strong work ethic, compassion, and a desire to care for people.
As a leader during these unprecedented times in healthcare, she continues to use her strengths to create and promote teamwork, motivate, and inspire others to be “stigma busters” and create easier access to care for those individuals within our community.
